SCREENWRITER HELP NEEDED!!!

11/13/2009 :: By Blythe, Cheryl

Hi, my name is Barbara Devinki. I have been working on a story for several years. It is a true story that takes place during WWII. I have a treatment and someone who has connections to pitch this story. He is my historical consultant.

I have Final Draft installed on my MAC, but I have no technical skills to write this script. I am looking for someone who would be interested in partnering with meeither on a technical level and/or a developmental level to help me get this powerful story on paper.

The man I am working with will take it to the right people who are interested in producing this. But, I have to have at least a first draft.

Please let me know who might be interested in this amazing project. Thank you so much. Barbara Devinki H. 760-328-9921 C. 913-208-4949

Why No Women Superheroes in Film?

02/03/2009 :: By HOFMEISTER, DON

Have you ever noticed that most movie superheroes are young men? Think Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Neo, Hancock. But, Hancock’s different – he really doesn’t want to be a superhero. So I wondered, what would be an even more unlikely Superhero, at the opposite end of the spectrum – the answer: a “mature” woman!
In my script “Doomed” I created Willis Masters - a superhero-in-waiting who is a female professor of Environmental Science at UCLA in her sixties. Her latent mental and physical powers grow when Earth is threatened by a potential disaster from outer space. But her skills are not really silly stuff, like leaping tall buildings in a single bound.
So, why is this of interest to PSWIFT?
I submitted “Doomed” to triggerstreet.com (a website where you can have your script reviewed and in turn review other amateur scripts) and did a rewrite based on the peer reviews. I submitted the revised script to several contests and am in the process of doing another rewrite as a result of contest feedback.
But, I’m a guy! I don’t have the female perspective. So, if any of you PSWIFTers would be interested in reading my script and providing female-oriented feedback, I’d appreciate it. Maybe together, we can get an older, intelligent, butt-kicking lady on the screen! You can e-mail me at tri5054@verizon.net if you want a .pdf version of the current script.
Even if you don’t read the script, if you have any ideas about who would be the perfect leading lady to play Willis, let me know. She has to be very physically fit, attractive (there are sexy scenes) – maybe a former movie star looking for a comeback.
Also, I have several scenes out here, in the desert – Landers in particular. The whole setting could be in this area – a local college instead of UCLA, etc.
