Rona Edwards and Monika Skerbelis, authors of I Liked It, Didnt Love It: Screenplay Development from the Inside Out, together have over 25 years of experience in the film industry, having worked in development for major studios (Universal, 20th Century Fox, Paramount), production companies (Michael Phillips Productions, John Larroquettes Port Street Films), and have had movies produced and/or in development with VH1, ABC, USA, HBO, Lifetime, CBS, Warner Bros., and Ed Pressman, to name a few. Monika worked in the story department of Paramount for more than 15 years. Rona was VP Creative Affairs at John Larroquettes company and has seven movies to her credit. Currently, they have set up a series of movies at Lifetime based on books they optioned which are expected to air in 2009.
For the past nine years, they have been teaching a very successful course, Introduction to Feature Film Development at UCLA Extension on campus and online, and another online course titled Story Development Process in the Entertainment Industry at Riverside Community College. They also taught a Basic Screenwriting Fundamentals class on campus at Chapman Universitys Dodge College of Film and Media Arts
This past year they founded ESE FILM WORKSHOPS ONLINE, a global film school in which they offer such courses as Creating A Production Company, Maneuvering Film Festivals, Finding & Developing New Ideas, and Screenplay Development From the Inside Out in a user friendly environment. Fern Field, EMMY award winning producer, will be moderator.
The seminar will conclude with a drawing, whereby one lucky participant will have the opportunity to pitch their project to Fern Field, Rona Edwards and Monika Skerbelis. The pitch should be about five minutes long and the project should be appropriate for a film studio and/or television network.
Copies of their book will be available for purchase and autographs.
