Leading entrepreneur and film & television actress, best known as a regular, Nurse Samantha Greene in the series Black Sheep Squadron, DuBarry Hay also starred in several feature films and worked with Hal Ashby in her favorite film, BEING THERE.
Through her production company, Blue Moxie Entertainment, DuBarry Hay has produced the feature film, Shoot the Hero, shot locally, which had its World Premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
Her direct response company, Kaswit, Inc. develops consumer products and funds infomercials. Current projects on-air are, Pilates Power Gym and Don Sullivans Secrets to Training the Perfect Dog.
DuBarry Hay co-founded Thane International, one of the leading global direct response marketers in the world, in 1990 with her husband and business partner of 15 years, Bill Hay. In 1998, Denise and Bill were honored as Entrepreneur of the Year for the Inland Empire by Ernst & Young and Newsweek. Thane International has created several highly successful brands in diverse categories with global marketing and distribution operations that extend to over 100 countries worldwide. DuBarry Hay served as Chief Creative Officer and executive producer for more than 90 long-form infomercials and spot programming for Thane. Products sold through infomercials she produced have generated over 1 billion dollars in sales.
In 2001, 2002 and 2003, DuBarry Hay was the executive producer of the live awards gala for the annual ERA (Electronic Retailing Association) Convention and Expo. As a result of her involvement with the ERA, she was presented with the 2002 Volunteer of the Year award. Moreover, that same year, the City of Palm Springs also honored DuBarry Hay with her very own star on its Walk of Fame.
She is involved with several local community initiatives, including serving as a Trustee and Campaign Development Chair for Olive Crest homes and services for abused children. As a result of Denises generosity, one of the four local Olive Crest homes is named in her honor. As the capital campaign chairman, she has been instrumental in helping raise over $3.5 million to complete phase one of the Coachella Valley Childrens Center.
She has also served as a board member of the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Women Leaders Forum, the ERA and Thane International. She currently also serves as a board member of the Marywood/Palm Valley School and Palm Springs Cultural Center, and Past President / Marketing Chair of Palm Springs Women in Film & Television. In October of 2005, DuBarry Hay was listed in the top 20 of the most dynamic women of the Coachella Valley.
DuBarry Hay adheres to the credo that family comes first. She is a devoted wife and mother of two daughters and three stepsons. In addition to deftly managing her dedication to family, work and the community, Denise DuBarry Hay is perhaps most proud of the fact that she is living her life to its fullest.
