PSWIFT is a non-profit organization, founded in 2001, dedicated to promoting our members, both men and women in the Entertainment, New Media and Creative arts community. We are focused on education and bringing more production work to the Coachella Valley. PSWIFT is the 38th Chapter of Women in Film & Television International, reaching over 43 Chapters worldwide and over 10,000 members.
COACHELLA VALLEY BOOKPALS - The program started in the Coachella Valley in 2007 and in January 2010 was adopted by the Palm Springs Women in Film and Television as one of its projects reading to over 2,246 children weekly in the Coachella Valley.
SCHOLARSHIPS - Every year PSWIFT has given away scholarship money to local student programs in the Coachella Valley.
2017 Recipients include: DIGICOM, DATA - Digital Arts Technology Academy, PS Cultural Center
PSWIFT also supported the efforts of The Peace Train a program which brings together students to sing about their shared values and their hopes for social justice. This American Tour was modeled on The Peace Train's highly successful projects for Nelson Mandela in South Africa. PSWIFT sponsored a local high school student who became one of the Film Crew, getting hands-on skills from trained professionals filming the event.
