PSWIFT is proud to offer scholarships for students entering post-secondary
education programs in fields related to PSWIFT’s mission. 2023 application period is closed and scholarships will be awarded on May 16, 2023 at our event that is open to the public.
Patti Gribow Student Scholarship
The Palm Springs Women in Film and Television Patti Gribow Student Scholarship was created to provide financial aid to a high school student in the field of filmmaking or a closely-related field such as theater/drama, writing or entertainment. Only high school students are eligible to apply. The student is required to be enrolled in a high school in the Coachella Valley, and be in their senior year. Other areas of consideration are talent, academic excellence and financial need. All applicants must submit a completed application, a work sample that showcases writing ability and/or talents related to the focus of this scholarship, and a transcript.
Post-Secondary Filmmakers Scholarship
The Palm Springs Women in Film and Television Post-Secondary Filmmakers Scholarship was created to provide financial aid and incentive to students of film and beginning filmmakers. The goal of the scholarship is to provide, encourage and support educational opportunities relating to film and to residents of the Coachella Valley who are enrolled in a post-secondary educational program related to filmmaking and the film industry. The purpose of the scholarship program is intended to support budding filmmakers and students of film.
The PSWIFT Scholarship Awards Selection Committee will consist of eleven (11) members: nine (9) members from Board of Directors/Advisory Council; one (1) from PSWIFT’s Filmmakers Lab; and one (1) Scholarship Committee-Chair. The selection committee, as well as family members of the aforementioned, shall be ineligible for the scholarship award.
