Palm Springs Women in Film & Television (PSWIFT) is seeking two (2) dedicated, passionate, and mission-driven individuals to serve on our Board of Directors. As an affiliate of Women in Film & Television International (WIFTI) and WIFT-US, PSWIFT is committed to advancing the careers of our members in the film, television, and digital media industries through education, networking, advocacy, and recognition.

Board Member Responsibilities
Serving as a PSWIFT Board Member is both an honor and a commitment. Board members are expected to:

• Uphold PSWIFT’s Mission & Values – Support the professional growth and visibility of our members in alignment with WIFTI and WIFT-US standards.

• Attend Board Meetings – We meet once a month, either in person or by video conference. Additional committee meetings may be scheduled as needed.

• Support PSWIFT Events – Make every effort to attend at least 80% of our events annually. Board members serve as ambassadors of the organization and are expected to engage with members and the community.

• Participate in Committees – Contribute time and expertise to at least one committee, initiative, or special project.

• Assist with Fundraising & Sponsorship – Participate in securing sponsorships, donations, or other resources to sustain PSWIFT’s programs.

• Act in Accordance with Our Code of Conduct – Maintain professionalism, integrity, and respect toward fellow board members, members, partners, and the community. This includes refraining from conduct that could bring disrepute to PSWIFT or conflict with our mission.

• Act in the best interest of PSWIFT at all times.

• Maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters.

• Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any potential conflicts promptly.

• Treat all individuals with dignity, courtesy, and respect.

• Represent PSWIFT positively in all professional and public interactions.

Pertinent Bylaw Notes for Candidates

• PSWIFT is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation and a chapter of WIFTI.

• In accordance with WIFTI/WIFT-US alignment, only women may serve as President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer.

• Board composition should reflect our membership, with male representation proportionate to the number of male members in the organization.

• Directors serve terms as set forth in our bylaws, with eligibility for re-election.

• All board actions require adherence to California nonprofit governance standards and PSWIFT’s bylaws.
