The family of Denise DuBarry Hay announces a Celebration of Life and new Walk of Stars dedication to the late humanitarian, philanthropist, television, film actress and producer to take place in Palm Springs on Friday, April 26.  Denise was born on March 6, 1956 and passed away suddenly from a rare fungus infection on March 23, 2019.  Known as a pioneer in the industry, Denise co-founded Thane International Inc., a direct response industry company along with her husband, Bill Hay, in 1990, as well as their popular company Kaswit.  As an actress, she is best known for her role as nurse Lieutenant Samantha Green on the television series “Black Sheep Squadron” and as Johanna Franking in the film “Being There.”  Denise, a proven formidable producer, recently produced and starred in the local made film “Do It Or Die” in 2017, and more recently “Walk to Vegas” in 2019, both which were screened at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.  Denise was also known for her support of the nonprofit Olive Crest, as well as Palm Springs Women in Film and Television serving as past-president and founder of the Broken Glass Awards.   An advocate of Yoga for years, Denise opened Bikram Yoga in Palm Desert and just recently, her second Bikram Yoga studio in Palm Springs*.  She was known to be the ultimate entrepreneur, she fulfilled a dream to own a health food restaurant, and back in 2018, opened Wildest Greens in Palm Desert.  Most importantly, this award winning, highly acclaimed and widely honored woman was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother, sister, child and friend to many.  She had an uncanny way of juggling life’s demands, and, as she liked to say with tongue in cheek, was a time stretcher, always able to carve out precious time to listen to those family members, friends, associates and employees, who really needed her ear.  Denise’s sister, Suzanne DuBarry will be the mistress of ceremonies along with Denise’s husband, Bill, accepting the star dedication on behalf of his late wife.  Also, on hand will be Denise’s sisters Adrienne and Diana, as well as her daughter Whitney for the unveiling of the star.
