Roxy & The Man Writer/Director: Joey Medina Producers/Executive Producers: Silva Mirzoian-Marchi, Michael Marchi and Joey Medina
A terminally ill Vietnam veteran finds solace and purpose in rescuing an abused dog, rediscovering the meaning of life and the profound power of companionship. Beautifully photographed by cinematographer Steven Rimlinger and accompanied by a moving piano-driven score by Svetlana Krylova, Roxy & The Man delivers a heartfelt story of healing, hope and unconditional love.
The award-winning short has screened at numerous film festivals, and actor Paul Rodriguez recently received Best Actor honors for his performance at the Mexican American Film Festival. Originally created as a fundraiser for Loving All Animals and the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, the film continues to support animal rescue organizations through special fundraising screenings across the country.
Name Tag Written by Crystal Harrell | Directed by Kent Kay
Inspired by Harrell's original poem, Name Tag is a visually striking and deeply personal exploration of identity, self-worth and the labels we carry throughout our lives. Through poetic imagery and emotional storytelling, the film examines the struggle to define oneself beyond societal expectations and personal doubts.
An Official Selection of the 2026 American Documentary and Animation Film Festival (AmDocs), Name Tag marks Harrell's first professional film writing credit and showcases the power of independent storytelling born in the Coachella Valley.
- An opportunity for networking with local creatives, filmmakers and community leaders.
- Refreshments and snacks will be available for purchase through Revolution Stage Company concessions.
This event is open to PSWIFT members and the public.
A suggested donation of $20 is appreciated, with all proceeds benefiting the PSWIFT Scholarship Fund, helping provide educational opportunities for future students pursuing careers in film, television, media and entertainment.
Come celebrate the talent, passion and promise of our scholarship recipients while supporting local storytellers and the next generation of creative voices.
